Tom,

Point well taken !

Sorry I didn't mean to imply anything negative. And I certainly never
intentionally meant to hint that what you did was unseaman like.
I do apologize if I offended you. I admit I forgot your original comment. That
does happen in Email exchanges. All too often!

I guess I was trying to support Harvey's excellent comment. Sometimes to be the
lone voice in a crowd, is uncomfortable. Harvey did what is seldom done on
email lists, he gave us some straight talk about the subject. I felt what he
said was Spot On. Others may disagree.

Let's face it. There are times when problems arise while we're sailing...where
expediency can be the correct choice.
It takes more than "Book Learning" to be a Seaman.

With Respect,

To clarify, I did NOT sail in. The wind was to close to dead on the nose,
it's a narrow channel, and a hard turn to head toward my slip. That's exactly
why I got myself towed in. The marina guy's complaint was that the tow was a
line stern to bow rather than side to side. My reason for posting was one of
educating myself on potential seamanship issues, so I thank you all for your
comments.
