- -1:   the word 'distribution' is the only one we use which is not
ambiguous:  it clearly implies a tarball / zipfile / other concrete
artifact which contains a specific chunk of distributed software.
Bringing "package" back into the discussion, or substituting another
name, would reduce clarity.
