I think we are. The motivation behind the plan that I mentioned is to
minimize the impact on our users and overall confusion. It is working
out well so far. All the "past-1.2" stuff is already developed on
Apache infrastructure, so once the core catches up, we'll start
releasing from Apache.

We discussed this before - "1.2-final" will be the last non-ASF
release. Then we will make a 2.0 release which will be the replica
of 1.2, only converted to Apache package namespace. It will be
done following the Incubator procedures. Since 1.2 is already a
release candidate and the code is mostly frozen, I expect this to
