I found a few shorebirds in Dryden on my way in to work this morning.
At the pond along Rt. 38 south of Dryden (just a bit north of Beam
Hill Road), the front edge of the water is low and has a lot of
exposed mud. On it I saw 15+ Least Sandpipers, 30+ Killdeer, and 1
Solitary Sandpiper. George Road pond has a lot of exposed mud as well
(although parts are pretty dry), today hosting 3 Solitary Sandpipers,
3 Least Sandpipers, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, and ~20 Killdeer.

Also, although rather late, it seems appropriate to mention the
shorebirds at Montezuma again. Tom Johnson and I stopped by East Road
on our way back from seeing the White-winged Dove near Rochester on
Monday evening. Shorebird numbers were even greater than over the
weekend, with somewhere approaching 2000 birds present on the
extensive mudflats. Lesser Yellowlegs, Least Sandpipers, and
Semipalmated Sandpipers were abundant; Killdeer, Solitary Sandpipers,
Short-billed Dowitchers, and Pectoral Sandpipers numbers in the 30
range; and individuals of Spotted Sandpiper, Greater Yellowlegs,
Semipalmated Plover, Stilt Sandpiper, and WILSON'S PHALAROPE were also
present. Two cranes were feeding in the vegetated area on the left
side, and four more flew in at dusk.

Cheers.
