From Sheldrake Point park looking in the area just south of the large red metal channel marker
there have been 4 female BLACK SCOTERS, 2 female SURF SCOTERS, and 2 male (one adult
& one young) WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS this weekend.  Usually they swim only with their own
kind, but occasionally they group into a single flock.

Other birds I've seen there lately include 2 HORNED GREBES, 2 female BUFFLEHEADS, a flyby
northbound DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT, a hunting adult BALD EAGLE, a couple COMMON
LOONS, and on Thursday at dusk what may have been the Pacific Loon swimming away toward the
middle of the lake.  Plus RING-BILLED, HERRING & GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, MALLARDS,
AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS, and CANADA GEESE.
