Shortly after 9am I was walking in the big field east of the Lab of O and south of NYS-13 & the airport.  I did not see or hear any Swamp Sparrows or Virginia Rails or Eastern Meadowlarks, only traffic.  I did venture under the power lines briefly where I flushed an immature BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON from the shrubby swamp.  It flew north and east, more-or-less toward the Lab, but I couldn't see how far it went.  Anyway, keep an eye open for it.
