The Schuyler (Watkins Glen) CBC will be held on 02 Jan 2011. Contact Jack
Brubaker,
the coordinator, at 535-2356 if you wish to help either as a feeder watcher or
in
the field. We are always short of field birders.

This count circle centers on 4th and Franklin St in the Glen. As it stands now,
Jack
will do the waterfront areas and whatever else remains in that and the west
sector.
Sue and I will do all of the Town of Hector areas including the lakefront, the
National Forest portion and inland areas between Seneca and Cayuta Lakes that
are
within the circle. Barlow Rhodes and Fred Sibley will probably do the Odessa,
Cayuta Lake areas. Bill Ostrander normally picks up the southern areas along
414 and
the Catharine Valley Trail.

If you wish to help one of the field areas you can contact the appropriate field
leader and be assigned an area.

Please keep an eye out for any unusual birds and let me know. So far we know of
one
wintering sapsucker in Hector. Will the red-headed Woodpecker return? Owls? You
can
help even if that is limited to listening for owls or watching your feeders.

Results should be called in to Jack (he's not on the net) the following day
and/or
mailed to him at Seneca Lodge, Watkins Glen. Field helpers contact your sector
leader.

Thanks,

John
