Spent a nice 4 hours walking around the pond this morning at SSW. Lots of
sining YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS! Less activity than I had hoped for but still
good birding. Interestingly, it wasn't until around 10am that I began to see
the YRWAs. Several NORTHERN FLICKERS and YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS chasing each
other. Nothing rare, but interesting species included 2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS at the
south end of the pond, 1 BROAD-TAILED HAWK, a MINK by the small pond on the
west side of the large pond, and 2 NORTHERN WATER SNAKES mating at Fuller
Wetlands.
