ON my afternoon walk up Mt Pleasant Rd, around 3:30, I enjoyed the following highlights:
A total of 10 American Kestrels! 7 on the wires along the radio tower rd (along with 2 Mourning Doves pretending to be kestrels!), 1 by the observatory, 2 on the wires closest to the abandoned section of Mineah Rd. Eastern Meadowlark seen briefly in flight then landing in one of the fields. Dozens of Bobolinks feeding and flying in straggling groups over the switchgrass field adjacent to the dirt rd by the farm (called Pinewoods Rd on old maps) Cedar Waxwings, some were juveniles.
