Jim and I studied the bird extensively and thought it was a Slaty-backed. We
saw it fly briefly but in a swirling mass of gulls and wingtips. I thought I
could see the "string of pearls" but can't be sure.

-conspicuous bubble-gum pink legs
-proper back and wing color darker than LBBG but slightly paler than GBBG
-obvious white "skirt"
-proper size, too large for LBBG and too small for GBBG
-proper eye color

I won't go through all the reasons it's not a Lesser BB Gull or Great BB Gull.
