Ken's accounts of birds responding to the calls of other birds reminds me of a time a couple of years ago when I made the trek from Station Road to search for Worm-eating Warbler. From the top of the ridge, after listening for a while to some distant trilling, I played the Worm-eating song. Who should come flying in but a Junco. That's when I gave up trying to identify Worm-eating by sound.
And Ken, thanks for suggesting Yellow-rumped Warbler as the source of Suan's mystery bird. I was on Paul's trip this morning. That was my second guess, after my first guess was rejected.
