Around 4 a.m. this morning, I was awoken by the whinny call of at least two SCREECH OWLS. Still sleepy, my brain took a while to process what I was hearing and I thought it was my neighbor's pony next door. But the whinny calls ended with really cool screech owl trill, confirming that it was indeed the SCREECH OWLS. They were calling back and forth, and quite close. This is a new yard bird for us, so I hope they stick around!
