Around 11:30 this morning, I found a Rough-legged Hawk hovering over the fields just east of the Mt Pleasant Observatory. I watched it for about 15 minutes, hoping it would come back into photo range, but it slowly made its way south, circling and hovering as it went, until it was out of sight. Hopefully there will be others up here this winter.
