Hi all, Just about 15 minutes ago I witnessed hundreds of gulls heading to Cornell compost dump from the lake. I scanned for white-winged gulls but could not find any. I missed earlier several hundred gulls before starting the scan with binoculars. All the gulls from the lake seemed to be going at the same time, I thought it is interesting. In the afternoon I see them flying back to the lake not as one big group but as smaller groups. So who (leader) and when they decide to fly to the dump? When they do return from the dump? I will try to keep watch in future to see if they have any particular time.
