Having spent quite a bit of time in the past few weeks watching shorebirds at Knox-Marsellus Marsh, I've come to think of them as silent feeders - except for an occasional yellowlegs call or perhaps a flyover plover. But I just came across Andrew Spencer's blog on some shorebirds that breed in Alaska, with examples of their remarkable songs and calls. It has opened a whole new window on shorebirds for me.
