Thanks to the several folks who corrected my identification of the hawk in our back yard this afternoon! While I have been watching birds for much of my life and am a charter member of the Feederwatch program, I have little knowledge of such raptors, and having several sightings during this most unusual winter has been very exciting, whether or not I know precisely what bird it is.
Good birding to us all.
