This weekend is the Montezuma Muckrace, a 24-hour race to find as many bird species as possible within the 242-square-mile area that comprises the Montezuma wetlands complex. The event is a fundraiser for the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge; funds raised from the Muckrace will go to support restoration of wetlands and wildlife habitat and expansion of environmental education and access.
