Tim Lenz found an American white pelican on the red lighthouse jetty about an hour ago. The bird was visible naked eye as a white blob from Stewart Park around 430, and after rushing to Hog Hole to try to see it from there in the fading light, I saw a large White thing swimming away from the red jetty towards the white jetty and Stewart Park. So, it seems possible that it will still be here in the morning.
