I believe I spotted a yellow-bellied sapsucker at my feeders in Newfield this afternoon. I could only see its back and head, and while I haven't seen many that close, I am very familiar with all of the year-round woodpeckers here, and it wasn't any of the usual visitors.
I heard them in the woods nearby this spring and summer, but is it possible that any stuck around? -Laura Heisey, Shaffer Rd., Newfield. -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
