Hi all, I just picked up a Yellow-crowned Night-heron specimen from the Swanson Wildlife Clinic. They said the bird had been found on Route 13 near the Ithaca Airport on October 20. It's going to be prepared for the Museum of Vertebrates sometime this week.
According to Jay McGowan and Tim Lenz this is the first record for that species in eBird and the first or second for the county, but they can correct me on that if I'm wrong. -- Brad Walker Multimedia Collections Specialist Macaulay Library Cornell Lab of Ornithology -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
