Yesterday I saw in my yard 2 Redwing Blackbirds with a bare patches on their faces. with one it was fairly extensive around the eye & side of face. It was light -colored - like bare skin, not darkish, as in photos of mystery disease. Since I was consulting with workmen at the time, I did not get to study the birds and I have not seen the one with the more extensive bareness since. The other ‘s bare patch is on back of head.
I am gradually removing all my feeders.
