I was just at Ithaca Falls and I can confirm they are Great Egrets. One was at the base of the falls, the other two up on the gorge wall on the north side farther away from the falls. The one from the base flew over to one of the egrets, they had a little squabble and all three remained on the wall. Every once in a while, one would fly down to the water lever and search for food.
Pretty cool to watch wildlife so close to home.
