This morning I had my personal FOY songbird nest! A Carolina Wren was bringing nest material to a former nest site, a nest shelf attached to the side of my home in Lansing. It made multiple trips while the mate sang. They often surprise me by how early and how late they continue nesting here (3-3-2012 earliest nest building, 9-12-2020 latest fledging date, from my personal NestWatch data).
Has anyone else seen songbird nest-building activity? (I know raptors get an early start.)
