In the vicinity of the Sherwood Platform on the Wilson Trail in Sapsucker Woods this morning I heard what sounded to me like a variation of a Blue-winged Warbler song- the typical higher buzz followed by a lower buzz, but the higher buzz was repeated, so two initial higher buzzes followed by the typical lower buzz. The bird repeated this song several times and move about quite a bit, but I never got a look at it aside from a glimpse as it flew from one spot to another before it either flew too far to hear or stopped singing. I heard a typical Blue-winged song in the same area on Monday. Since the song sounded a little different, I recorded it on my phone using the Merlin app, which identified it as a Golden-winged.
