All - Why do we only sponsor recreational teams? What if a group wanted to
enter in the Low-Carbon category, for instance? Shouldn't we we be building
some flexibility into our sponsorships?

As many local birders are aware, the Friends of the Montezuma Wetlands Complex
is holding their annual Muckrace on September 9-10, 7pm - 7pm. This is an
opportunity for fun birding during Fall migration with the overall goal of
raising money for improvements to the complex. It offers great birding
opportunities in a variety of habitats while socializing with old friends and
making new ones with the added spice of friendly competition.

You can learn about the Muckrace at
https://friendsofmontezuma.org/projects-programs/muckrace/

The Cayuga Bird Club is willing to sponsor three recreational teams for this
year’s event; we will pay the registration fee. We invite Cayuga Bird Club
members and other interested birders to consider participating under our
sponsorship.

If you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, either as a team leader or
as a member of a team. Write to me at
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. DO NOT REPLY TO THE LIST_SERVE. I
will do my best to coordinate the formation of a team by identifying a team
leader and initiating communications between team members. The opportunity
will be first-come, first-served.

Best,
