"Birds of Florida" Craig Braack, Presenter Chemung Valley Audubon Society meets February 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the West End Room at Appleridge, 168 Miller St., Horseheads. All are welcome to attend to learn about local birds, the society's projects, and how to become involved. Appleridge is wheelchair accessible. A 7:00 p.m. Bird Identification Workshop by Bill Ostrander is followed by a brief business meeting at 7:30. The evening's program is "Birds of Florida" with photographer Craig Braack of Allegany County, NY. Braack travels widely throughout North America in search of exquisite bird photos. His Florida program features many of the bird species most easily photographed in the Sunshine State. He will provide a handout that lists good locations for photographers, with specific information about best times to visit and where to stay. Closer to home, Braack is active in the New York State Ornithological Association and the Allegany County Bird Club, and he served as Allegany County Historian for 30 years.
