*Assignment Term*
*Contract assignment* to be completed by *January 31, 2014*. Network
engineer will assist NBSA with migration of it's Data Center to a new
provider location.

*Work Hours*
Network Administrator must be available to work regular hours as well as be
available for after hours incidents, moves and changes. Including weekends.

*Role summary*:

Provide Level 3 design, configuration, and maintenance support for all
network infrastructure components located at the Seattle Data center
facility.
Provide technical team leadership function for network engineering staff at
Seattle Data center facility.
Provide level 3 support for additional technology projects, as required by
PMO.

Detailed explanations for roles:

*Role 1*: This is the primary role of this position, and includes a wide
variety of technical functions. The foremost function is the day-to-day
support of the production network infrastructure, including all layer 1-4
communications components: Physical network cable plant; communications
circuits; network switches, routers, and hubs; network load balancers; and
firewalls.
The secondary function of this role is the design and implementation of
production infrastructure, including all of the above mentioned components.
In addition, this role is responsible for the implementation and
maintenance of troubleshooting and analysis tools used for supporting the
production network infrastructure. Documenting device configuration,
device EOL and EOS tracking, current OS levels, provide network maps and
administer/audit of administration users. Identify and correct security
access breaches, report to security team all issues and attempts. On-call
support for incident handling, including circuit outages, Internet
connection issues as well as Internal access and DMZ control.

Role 2: This role is limited to providing technology guidance to other
members of the Seattle Network team where necessary, assisting with design,
implementation, and support tasks and procedures. This role requires
interaction with the Technical services manager, and other department
managers located both in Seattle and other Global locations.

Role 3: This role involves participating in teams assigned to technology
projects, as dictated by the PMO. Project support includes, but is not
limited to; design and documentation; evaluation of technologies and
products; configuration and implementation; and supporting procedures and
guidelines.

Role 4: This role requires participation in facilitating the move to a
provider DC and will be responsible for Local Area Network
routers/switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN devices and other
miscellaneous cabling and connections as necessary. Will be required to
maintain local environment while assisting in the Transition and
Transformation from Seattle DC to Columbus DC. Will work closely with
the provider during T&T. May be required to make ad-hoc routing changes as
required.


*Technical Details*:

Technology skills required:

A solid understanding of data-communications at the level of CCNP or higher.

This would include experience with the following technologies:

Local Area Networking (LAN) - Must be experienced in designing,
implementing, and troubleshooting the following LAN technologies; Fast
Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet switches LAN’s, including the using of
VLANs, Spanning-Tree, layer 3 switching, Etherchannelling, and 802.1q
Trunking, TCP/IP - Must be very comfortable with all major IP
protocols/applications and be skilled with TCP in particular.
IP Routing - must be experienced in designing, implementing, and
troubleshooting IP Routed networks using the following IP Routing protocols:
Cisco EIGRP
BGP
Static routing
Policy Based Routing
Layer 4-7 load balancing - Must be experienced in designing, implementing,
and troubleshooting layer 4-7 IP Load-Balancing solutions.
Security - Must be experienced in designing, implementing, and
troubleshooting a variety of network security solutions, including the
following;
Layer 4/7 Firewalls
Application Proxies
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems
IPSec/SSL VPN
SSL encryption/decryption
Network Monitoring/Analysis - Must be experienced in designing,
implementing, and maintaining distributed network analysis solutions,
including packet-level analysis tools, application-level trace tools,
and network monitoring tools. This includes experience with the
following:
IP SNMP
Cisco Netflow
Application analysis and baseline tools

Wireless LAN - Must be experienced in designing, implementing, and
troubleshooting 802.1 based wireless networking solutions.
High-Availability Network Infrastructure design, implementation, and
troubleshooting, including HA firewall technology, application
load-balancing/clustering, and IP Routing for HA functionality.
DNS - Must be experienced in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting
Windows and Bind DNS solutions.
