• The Senior Business Analyst (BA) for the International Classification of
Diseases v10 (ICD10) project serves as the liaison between the business
community and the technical development project and, as such, should be
well versed in health plan management, operational concepts and the systems
development lifecycle.
• The Senior BA must have sufficient knowledge of the entire scope of the
health care business to insure that the development work within their
functional area is compatible with the organization’s system as a whole.
• The Senior BA’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the implemented
coding scheme meets the requirements of the business community and conforms
to all applicable Federal and state laws.
• The Senior BA is an active member in all phases of the project including:
gap, analysis, requirements gathering, design and development activities,
testing, implementation, and stabilization.
• Ideal candidate will have a background that includes expertise in health
care claims and /or service authorization processing with special emphasis
on knowledge of reference subsystem requirements.
• Candidates may also be called upon to “backfill” the duties of staff
Business Analysts so that the staff analysts will be available to work on
aspects of the ICD10 project. Scope of Work:
• Review and sign off of Gap Analysis deliverables
• Review and sign off of System Component Development deliverables
• Participate in interface and conversion requirement development
• Develop test strategies, test scenarios and test cases
• Execute and review test runs
• Sign off on tested components
• Document interface requirements and participate in their development
(design, construction, testing, and roll-out)
• Document conversion requirements, if necessary, and participate in their
development (design, construction, testing, and roll-out)
• Coordinate review cycles with business users in all phases of the project
• Assist in development of the implementation strategy for the reference
subject area
• Design and develop operational workflows, develop and execute roll out
strategies and cutover plans
• Support the development of end-user training materials and end-user
documentation as required.
• Major oversight role during the stabilization phase including the
monitoring of system change execution, the development of system “fix”
strategies and the close monitoring of the implementation of those
strategies
• Assist in configuration of all reference tables.
