We need someone who can simply be a hands-on contributor while mentoring other DB developers and setting application-wide standards and design. I would hesitate to say that we are looking for a DBA because for many people that implies no development. But lead, senior, manager are all terms that come to mind when thinking of the ideal candidate. This role requires someone that can come in and say, "here is how you need to do this thing and then help do it."
