*Location [City/State]: Burbank, CA* *Interview Process: Phone and In-Person* *Overview* The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for building, managing, and supporting the Linux infrastructure, including *Red Hat/CentOS and Gentoo*, in our physical and virtual environments. This also includes supporting internal applications and support of the backup and restore of critical business systems. This individual will also work with Windows engineers within the IT group and other cross-functional teams such as security and network engineering. *Qualifications* Experience with of *Red Hat/CentOS 6.x operating systems.* Demonstrated ability in diagnosing and remedying critical server-related problems and failures promptly and effectively Demonstrated knowledge of server configurations, *RAID, SAN, server clustering, networking protocols, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN technologies* Comfortable working from the command-line using standard **nix tools, such as; vi, netstat, tcpdump, etc.* *Virtualization technologies and migration paths* *Responsibilities* Diagnoses, analyzes and troubleshoots applications, performance issues in a production environment Initiates vendor contact to resolve issues Collaborate with peers and management on projects and tasks Proactively manages environment, including capacity, availability, quotas, and snapshots to ensure optimization Develops and automates routine tasks via scripting/coding and automation tools Installs and maintains server operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance Manages enterprise backup/restore of critical business systems Provides 24/7 support of systems and applications in local and remote offices Assist with design, implementation, and management of our IT systems, while providing simple but effective scalability, performance, and reliability.
