The successful candidate will work with team members to help provide cutting-edge test solutions to test our big data framework. *Key responsibilities:* - Creates, maintains and executes automated test suites under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Engineer. - Works closely with product and development teams to help develop test strategies based on architectural designand requirements. - Develops, executes and maintains test cases and test processes for products. - Performs research and analysis to help solve product and technical problems. - Assists with deployments, verification and support of applications in Production. - Updates documentationfor QA processes and procedures. - Helps maintain the QA environment to ensure optimal test performance. - Engages in defect triage, reporting and tracking. - Conducts data analyses to assess issues in terms of magnitude and potential root causes. - Engages in defect prevention through early involvement with product and development teams. - Tracks and reports test status and test results. *What we’re looking for:* - Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a QA Analyst/QA Engineer. - Strong experience working with shell scripting. Must be able to understand and write moderate-to-complex shell scripts. - Experience working with other teams cross-functionally to determine root causes of issues, help define workaround solution(s) wherever applicable, and provide support to the team to implement corrective measures. - Strong experience with QA processes and methodologies required; automated and manual test processes, black through white box testing, test case design, scripting, execution, automated test tools. - Programming and scripting experience - Shell, C#, Java, PHP, Perl, Python or similar - Experience in testing distributed systems, NoSQL, Big Data and complex event processing - Experience with testing in both open source and enterprise technologies. - Experience with Linux and Apache Software Foundation - Experience with Agile (SCRUM or Kanban). *Qualifications:* - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, or related field.
