*Role: Java+ Hadoop developer Location: NY/NJ (Locals Only)* *Summary of Must have skill Set * : Knowledge of Java + Knowledge of Unix and windows +experience of Hadoop *Detailed Technical Skills Set * - Working experience with Hadoop/ Cloudera platform. Knowledge and use and application of Sqoop, Flume, Oozie, HIVE, Spark, Map Reduce is preferable. - Knowledge on consuming and analyzing Tick Data would be a plus. Knowledge and use and application of Bloomberg and associated APIs would be a plus. - Strong working experience on systems using JAVA and Unix scripting (korn / bourn shells, etc.) Knowledge of other scripting languages, including AWK, PYTHON, etc. would be a plus. - Understanding of Investment Systems and concepts would be a plus - Working experience on RDBMS systems (SQL Server, Oracle databases) and file transfer/ transmission protocols (FTP, SCP, etc.) would be a plus. - Knowledge of version management and scheduling tools is a plus. - Strong problem solving skills and is able to work independently - Familiarity with the Agile process *Other required skills * - Working knowledge of Windows and Unix/ Linux Operating Systems; familiarity with OS tools and utilities (grep, find, etc.) and need to know how to navigate directories, folders, etc. - Understand the development life-cycle, including system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases for client/server - Writes the system/technical portion of assigned deliverables. Assists technical team members with the system/technical portion of their deliverables (e.g., systems testers, test plans). On small teams, the developer may write these items. - Acts as a system tester for unit, integration, systems, acceptance, and related testing.
