Responsibilities include analyzing user requirements, designing systems to satisfy requirements, and implementing designs using top-quality object oriented and database practices. The position requires insightful creation of new innovations and delivering robust applications that may exceed the initial programming specifications. We are looking for a senior level core Java developer for our thick client application. Responsibilities include: • Participating in Software Development Life Cycle including user requirement analysis, documentation and work estimates. • Designing enterprise software solutions from user requirements. • Programming and testing software according to best practices and established standards. • Designing, building and maintaining databases. • Analyzing and solving technical problems. • Managing risks and dependencies proactively. • Coordinating and quickly resolving issues. • Ability to work independently with minimum direction. This position requires: • Strong Java programming skills • Linux / Unix proficiency • Java multithreading and concurrency analysis and development skills • Java profiling and performance analysis experience • Version control proficiency • Eclipse IDE proficiency • Familiarity with Java thick client applications • Excellent verbal and written communication and coordination skills The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, will make recommendations of new technologies, and will successfully implement those new technologies to advance products and solutions within the railroad industry.
