*Technical Business Analyst*

This is not a traditional “Business Analyst” so they are looking for
someone more on the systems analysis side that understands some of the
technical aspects of software development.  *Won’t be doing coding, but
must understand how the development language works and how it might impact
the system/application.  Should also be able to understand database
technologies and write queries in SQL or PL/SQL.  Any prior experience as a
developer is very helpful and will likely get an interview first before
other applicants*. When I say “technical”, I’m referring to performing some
technology activity (systems analysis, coding, design/architecture, etc.)
as part of their primary job responsibility.  Coming from a development
background and crossing over into a PM or BA type of role is the desired
profile – but it can be other technical roles such as data
modeling/architecture, infrastructure engineering, etc.





*SUMMARY:*
The Technical Business Analyst works with stakeholders from all business
units and related third parties to define and document business process and
software requirements for technology initiatives including in-store point
of sale systems. The Business Analyst is responsible for communication and
collaboration between the business and I.T.

*GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES*

·         Accountable for the functional design of software development
projects.

·         Leads the collaboration with business customers to define scope
for new projects, communicate the business vision, documents risks and
assumptions, develop the delivery approach, and estimates cost and timings

·         Decompose, refine, and document requirements using appropriate
graphical & textual techniques, including use cases, diagrams, process
models, wireframes, functional and technical specifications.

·         Leads the development of documentation for requirements, any
related specifications, user stories and business cases for potential
projects.

·         Participates in architecting the logical design of the system
with the technical team, including screen design and specifications, data
modeling, and documentation of logical processing flows.

·         Knowledge of QA processes with the ability to create user
acceptance test cases and execution of test cases when necessary.

·         Works closely with the fraud project managers for overall
coordination of project activities.

·         Communicate new requests received from the client to the project
leadership teams.

·         Develop business relationships with key representatives from
corporate, franchise and international organizations.

·         Solicit feedback on design, functionality, and priority of new
features from business representatives.


QUALIFICATIONS

·         5+ years of IT experience in business and systems analysis

·         Experience in large scale system implementation efforts following
a standard software development lifecycle approach SDLC (Agile/Scrum
desired)

·         Understanding of software development technologies and procedures
such as .NET, Java/J2EE, Mobile, SQL, Oracle, etc.).

·         Experience with RDBMS (SQL, Oracle, DB2) with the ability to write
database queries such as SQL or PL/SQL.

·         Understanding of systems analysis, data analysis, data modeling,
coding, design/architecture, etc.

·         Prior experience as a Software Developer very helpful.

·         Proven ability to provide high quality, impactful solutions to
real business opportunities and challenges.

·         Strong oral and written communications skills.

·         Strong facilitation skills

·         Experience in business and technical requirements analysis,
business process modeling/mapping, methodology development and data
modeling.

·         Prior experience in systems analysis and development helpful

·         Ability to create systematic and manual operations procedures in
both technical and user-friendly language.

·         Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced rapidly changing
environment

·         Excellent organization skills

·         Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams

·         Ability to multitask on a variety of projects.

·         Knowledge of industry standard development methodologies and
technologies
