Hi everybody this year Arabnet http://arabnet.me/ is launching with a cool bus tour http://yfrog.com/nf93861590j which will leave tomorrow sat 4th Dec from Beirut and cross many Arab capitals, holding workshops and gatherings
Please find the roadshow map and calendar here http://arabnet.me/roadshow/ The first stop is due to be in Damascus on sunday 5th with the workshop starting at 6pm at the Arab cultural center in Kafer Sousa You can register for free here http://arabnet.me/roadshow/damascus/ Then please have a look at the online calendar to have updates about the next stops The exciting news is that Arabnet has just announced that all the content created during the roadshow (blogposts, videos, pics, etc) will be released under Creative Commons in order to be legally shared and also remixed by people http://blog.arabnet.me/2010/12/arabnet-goes-creative-commons/ This is a great push to encourage content creation under open licenses in the Region and we hope to have many contributors joining I would like to encourage our communities that are based in the countries where the roadshow will stop to take part in the project, by joining the free workshops, taking pictures, videos, interviewing people, doing whatever creative stuff they feel like doing We will publish all this content jointly on the Creative Commons Arabic website and on the Arabnet website, and we hope to have as much material as possible cause the idea is soon to have remix parties in the region where people can use the footage available under CC to create new cool stuff Please let me know who wants to join this effort from the different above mentioned cities.
