*18 February -- Community call (English)* *Participants to the call* Pierre- Naeema (CC Lebanon) Bilal (CC Qatar) Mahmoud (CC UAE) Sherry (CC Syria) Dona explains the background of the CC global summit, activities, possibilities to get funded etc Pierre: the global summit is a good opportunity for us at CC lebanon to gather all together in the next days in order to come up with a joint proposal for the Argentina meeting Bilal: we at CC Qatar (together with Julia, Khalid etc) are going to do the same, meet up and come up with some ideas to propose as CC Qatar Sherry: proposes to create an archive of CC licensed art-work concerning Syria revolution (groups like "Syrian people know their way" and Top Goon already work under CC) Mahmoud: proposes ideas for OER panels ; there is a film which could be showcased but not sure if it`s ready before Argentina; there is an e-book made in UAE under CC “called "the human project” (can be found on Itunes store), we could create a workshop around OER drawing inspiration from this book and their experience Lots of questions whether is better to present country-based proposals or Pan-Arab or even cross-regional proposals. It is agreed that we should try to come up with a mix: we need country-based proposals especially to present projects in various fields, such as OER, culture et; but we also need to come up with a regional Pan Arab proposal especially concerning arts and culture Naeema volunteers to draft a sort of "Arabian night" proposal where we can have musicians, visual artists, etc..She is gonna post a draft in Arabic and English soon inshallah, everybody interested should add his/her thoughts to this draft online.
