The idea of our project came at the fourth CC salon held in Casablanca Morocco, with presence of Dona where we were brainstorming a way to move the movement forward in the region, I suggested initially to assemble the informationd about CC in a book in Arabic, and later the idea evolved into a small guide on Free culture movement as a whole.and also a small website in Arabic where the book can be downloaded: www.freecultureguide.net

Marhaba everybody
I want to give you a quick update concerning the Google Grants, if you remember a while ago I was pushing a lot to get new projects out to run for this funding opportunity

After receiving many propositions, the selection committee (made up of members from staff and community from all over the world - I was not in the committee though) has decided to give funding to 4 projects in the Arab region:
-a video project by Maya Zankoul (Lebanon)
- a music and training project by Bashar Lubbad (Palestine)

these two projects have got most of the funding

then two small grants have been assigned to two books projects
- one by Ahmad Mansour (Morocco)
- one by Faiza Souci )Algeria)

these projects are now in the making and due by the first half of 2014
I would love if one person from each team of the awarded project could briefly explain it to the community, even better if you can do it in Arabic and maybe just two lines in english for those in this list who do not understand arabic

Maya, Bashar, Ahmad and Faiza, would you be so kind to do that?
