Dear all,

Some questions about RP

A) If I configure PIM Dense mode, there is no need for RP, because it will only use source tree (S,G). B) If I configure PIM Sparse mode, I can either (a) configure RP manually, or (b) the routers will auto select a RP according to the multicast traffic. So, in (b) case, I can assume RP will change, if the multicast
traffic change.
C) If I configure PIM Sparse-Dense mode, I must manually configure RP for sparse mode group.

Some questions about source tree and share tree building
1) Each routers in the multicast domain will have source tree and/or share tree? or only the router one hop next to the host will have source tree, and only the RP will have share tree?

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,
Jack
