Hi Andy

Well I am not sure ether but the "alias configure conf t" will not work on
any or my routers. Below is a list of alias commands that do work all
except the first one. just past them in under the global config prompt.
Use the word after the exec;

alias configure conf t
alias exec pvc show frame pvc
alias exec map sh fram map
alias exec route sh frame route
alias exec sir Show IP route
alias exec sii Show IP Interface Brief
alias exec soi Show ip ospf interface
alias exec son Show IP OSPF Neighbor
alias exec sr Show Running-config
alias exec sfm show fram map
alias exec b sh ip int brief
alias exec c conf t
alias exec i sh ip route
alias exec al sh frame route
alias exec cc clear counter
alias exec pro sh ip prot
alias exec sf show frame
alias exec sio sho ip ospf
alias exec cib clear ip bgp
alias exec ipx show ipx route
alias exec ipxs show ipx servers
alias exec bs show ip bgp summary
alias exec bg show ip bgp
alias exec sib show ip bgp
alias exec sibs show ip bgp summaryc

[OSL | CCIE_RS] alias question

I have a question about the alias command. I was doing a lab that
required you to create two shortcuts:

sir  =  show ip route
sib = show ip interface brief

The answer according the book was:

alias configure sir show ip route
alias configure sib show ip interface brief

I’m thinking this is incorrect. The only way I could do this was to do:

alias exec sir show ip route
alias exec sir show ip interface brief

If someone could confirm this I would be greatful. Also does anyone know
if the is an errata doc for ipexpert books?

Andy
