Hello all, I am having trouble understading the use of Bc with policing. I was reading the cisco CCIE book. It says that policing fills the bucket at the rate of policing with time instead of filling it at the beigining of every interval. In that case having a CIR is enough. Why do we need Bc ?.
The tokens are filled in the bucket based on CIR and the arrival time of the packet with respect to the previous packet. In this situation, how is bc going to decide the number of tokens filled in the bucket. Thanks Suresh
