I was going through the configuration for the 802.1q tunnel and was surprised to see that 802.1q tunnel was enabled on all the Switch interfaces. In fact, as far as I know it is only needed on the edge switch ports and that would be cat4 fa0/19 and cat2 fa0/19 ports. There is no need to enable it on cat4 - Fa0/22 and cat2 -fa0/22 ports which are not facing the edge switches . I would like to know the reason behind that solution. Even though it is working but why to have tunnel encapsulation enabled everywhere.
