Hey Taqdir, As I understand it EIGRP uses "Distributed Update algorithm" or "DUAL", in combines the link-state and distance-vector algorithms. Routers running EIGRP choose paths based on vector (a direction) and distance but convergence is managed by change based updates. Together the two are combined in the DUAL algorithm to provide convergence speeds as fast (some say faster than) link state protocols without the computational and storage overhead.
If I'm wrong please correct me.
