Hi,
On switches (12.1EA, 12.2SE), if the port is in switched mode, it'll show the address of the _first vlan that is enabled on the switch_ while on routed ports it'll show the port's address. On routers (checked 12.2SB, 12.2SR, 12.4M) it'll show the address of the interface as well. Why don't you lab it? :-) R1-SITE1#sh cdp nei gi1/0/11 detail ------------------------- Device ID: S2-SITE1.LABLAB Entry address(es): IP address: 10.10.42.186 IPv6 address: 2001:DB8:280:21E:14FF:FE7C:85C1 (global unicast) IPv6 address: FE80::21E:14FF:FE7C:85C1 (link-local) Platform: cisco WS-C2960-24TT-L, Capabilities: Switch IGMP Interface: GigabitEthernet1/0/11, Port ID (outgoing port): GigabitEthernet0/1 Holdtime : 126 sec Version : Cisco IOS Software, C2960 Software (C2960-LANBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(50)SE, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Copyright (c) 1986-2009 by Cisco Systems, Inc.
