I took the R&S lab in January, 2003 and walked out thinking it wasn't
so bad, only to find out the nuances of the lab grading process caused
me to fail....

No big, moved on, decided things were more important on the voipy side
of the street...

Passed the CCIE Voice lab last Tuesday in RTP (I am 25309...).... so,
not wanting to be bored, decided let's go back to the only test I have
failed and not eventually passed... the CCIE R&S lab...

I have my voice rack (two 2821s and a 2811) plus the old voice rack
(five 3725s), a 3750, a pair of 3550s, three 6509s (two with a SUP1A,
one with a SUP2A with MSFC), a 3560 and a couple of ASAs (5510 and
5505s... all unrestricted licenses)...

I saw the new R&S blueprint and it said they were using 3825s and
1841s... no big on the 3800, a 2800 can do the same thing.... but why
the 1841s? Is Cisco just getting cheap on the lab? Is there something
about the 1841 I am not aware of that makes them special?

Also, how many 3560s on the lab? One, two?

What about topology, for Voice it is a published topology (so everyone
can build out their lab...) for R&S it is a wildcard, but what should
we be prepared for? How many 3800s, how many 1841s? Is there a
possible range (from 2 to 283 1841s, and from 3 to 76 3800s...)....

Also, what version of code are we running on the lab (Voice was 12.4.20T...)

I do not like GNS3, I prefer real routers... so, can I use 2811s in
lieu of the 1841s, or is there some VPN module in there that is
required?

Thanks in advance for the posts to follow....
