All, As I have progressed through the CCNA/CCNP and other tracks from other vendors, I have slowly over time formed a way of studying and keeping track of time and using applications to do it.
Something I started using in the last few weeks was "Klok" which is a time management tool to keep track of projects. It will give you reports and stats based on your entries over time. I am sure there are other apps out there that are more robust, but this is simple to use which I like. http://agileui.blogspot.com/2007/08/timetracker-alpha.html Something else I have migrated to was Microsoft One Note 2007. All I can say is it's a mouth full of awesome. Freehand notes, embedding video and audio, diagrams and everything else in a "notebook" style of doing things. I used to write everything by hand, but at the CCIE level, this seems to be wasting too much time. You can tag concepts, notes, video/audio and search for it later. You can basically do anything you want. No stupid silly formatting issues like you have with MS Word. You click somewhere and start typing, make a quick diagram draw some arrows and change colors. Pretty sweet and It boosted my learning rate quickly as I can take notes then review them the next day. I draw diagrams of EVERYTHING I learn (like OSPF LSA's for instance) as I am an extremely visual person so this helps a ton. Those are my 2 main choices thus far, so what applications or tools are other people using for time management and note taking? I did read on ccieguide.com something about Google Docs, but I didn't like it even though it is online which is nice. Once I found MS One Note 2007, I dropped it google docs like it's hot. Thanks- Nick
