Hi,

The document states:

Each transmitter also limits the maximum number of retransmissions of
a single frame to 16 attempts (N=15). After this number of attempts,
the transmitter gives up transmission and discards the frame, logging
an error. In practice, a network that is not overloaded should never
discard frames in this way.

So in total it's 16.
