3rd edition probably won't cover everything you need to know, I would purchase
the 4th edition as well as the Routing TCP/IP Vol1 and 2, these will allow you
to dig much deeper in the technologies whereas the certification guide will
give you enough info just to pass.

Here is a list ot recommended reading for CCIE from Cisco

Happy studying!!

And what about the 3rd edition?
Would I need the 4th edition?

I used CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Certification Guide 4th edition, it's a
great book.

Do you already have your CCNA and CCNP or are you diving straight into the
CCIE? How much experience do you have with Cisco? These questions will help
determine where you are at and what you need to do in order to get where you
want to go

Hello everybody

I am planning to do my CCIE written.
What would you recommend as good material to prepare for the CCIE written exam?

Thanks
Irvin
