The timeout is how many seconds the router would wait after the first ping
fail. You configure here a 5 seconds frequency and 15 seconds timeout. You
could make a calculation for your purpose in this case. Set the frequency to
10 and timeout to 9999, if the router fail in the 10 seconds interval it
would wait for a timeout of almost 10 seconds or two missed of 5 seconds.
Just think in what is the best for you.
