Hi, I have a quick question.
When we use multiple etherswitch modules on a single router, are the ports for these modules treated as two different switches or part of the same switch? for ex: ports 1/0 to 1/15 and then ports 2/0 to 2/15, a total of 32 ports! And, if we configure trunking on, lets say 2/13 & 2/14 but have for ex: vlans 40 & 50 configured as access ports on 1/4, 1/5, will the STP process forward vlans on ports 2/13 or 2/14? The reason I am asking this question is... I am working on GNS3 lab where I have two routers hosting two etherswitch modules each and have trunks configured on the ports mentioned earlier. I can ping two hosts connected on the same vlan on the same router with two etherswitch modules but when I ping two hosts on the same vlan but on different routers with etherswitch modules connected over a dot1q trunk, I cant get the ping working. Waiting for valuable inputs. Regards, Syed
