Hi, I am currently going over multicast, but this confusion is also applicable on other topics as well...
So, if I want to use static mroute commands, and use the new path for all sources possible, I see that the suggested way is ip mroute 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 <interface_or_IP> That command, like a unicast ip route command too, is using proper mask and not a wildcard. That means we are targeting exactly "0.0.0.0" as our stream source IP address. That is confusing for me. If we would be using wildcard masks instead, than it would mean "I don't care at all what address you throw at me". To finish this email - I know I have a flaw in understanding of course, because everybody is using this construct. :) Please help. :) Best Regards, Bojan Zivancevic Network Engineer _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com
